Hebei Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve is located in Hengshui City, Hebei Province, Taizhou District, Jizhou two counties, is the national AAAA-class tourist attractions, the North China Plain is the only marshes, water, beach, meadow and forest wetland ecosystem integrity Of the nature reserve, covers an area of 283 square kilometers. Hebei Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve is rich in biodiversity. It is a freshwater wetland ecosystem type nature reserve with inland freshwater wetland ecological system and national first and second class birds as its main protection targets.

July 2000, the State Forestry Administration and the provincial government approved the Hengshui Lake in Hebei Province Wetland and Bird Provincial Nature Reserve.
In June 2003, was approved as a national nature reserve.
December 2003 by the Office of Science and Technology of Hebei Province, the Propaganda Department of the provincial party committee, the Provincial Science and Technology Association, the provincial Department of Education jointly named "Hebei Province Youth Science and Technology Education Base."
May 2004 was the Hebei Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Provincial Women's Federation, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Education, the Provincial Environmental Protection Bureau, the provincial radio and television bureau named as the "practice of small citizens in Hebei Province moral base";
In June 2004, was named "National Water Scenic Area."

In 2005, the State Forestry Administration formally declared the Hengshui Lake National Nature Reserve to the international important wetland to the United Nations.
